Placements Refresher for DTP2 Students

Who is this session for?

This session is for GUDTP students whose studentship started after October 2024 and have not yet made concrete steps towards arranging their placement. It is particularly aimed to those finishing their second year of doctoral studies but all DTP2 students are welcome to join.

What is this session about?

This session will refresh your understanding of the GUDTP criteria, terms, and conditions for placement support. It will offer an overview of our application process, timeline, and documents. It will also offer an overview of recently advertised opportunities that are still accepting applications, as well as popular placement schemes with regular recuitment cycles.

Students will be expected to discuss their progress to date and any obstacles they have faced in arranging their placements with candour and openess.

This session will be equally useful to those interested in applying for an advertised placement and those aimng to arrange a bespoke placement.

The GUDTP Research in Practice and Placements Co-ordinator will address all questions and concerns based on past experience and the feedback of past students and hosts.

Pre-reading:

We encourage all participants to read our placements guidance for students before the session.

Delivered by:

Katerina Vavaliou, GUDTP Research in Practice and Placements Co-ordinator
