Project Title: Explaining political trust and its consequences for democracy

I study public opinion and political behaviour in democracies, with a focus on political trust and research reproducibility. I work in particular with causal inference methods using longitudinal and family data.
 
My DPhil project considers the factors affecting trust in democratic politics (particularly education, polarization, and psychological factors) and whether political distrust causes people to reject democratic principles. It is funded by an ESRC Advanced Quantitative Methods scholarship.
 
Before starting the DPhil in Politics, I completed an MSc in Politics Research and a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics, both also at the University of Oxford.
